The Million Dollar Hotel
Wim Wenders' last (documentary) film on Cuban musicians, Buena Vista Social Club, was a huge success in the USA and around the world. At least the soundtrack to his new film (starring Mel Gibson), The Million Dollar Hotel, could be another success. There are great new songs by U2 (The Ground Beneath Her Feet, Stateless, The First Time), Bono and the MDH Band (Never Let Me Go, Dancin' Shoes), Bono and Daniel Lanois (Falling At Your Feet), The MDH Band (Tom Tom's Dream, Bathtub, Funny Face) and others. Most remarkable is the song performed by actress Milla Jovovich (who also stars in Luc Besson's Fith Element), Satellite of Love. I have not seen the film yet, but if it is only half as good as the motion picture soundtrack, it is worth watching. Get the CD from Amazon.com, Amazon.ca, Amazon.fr.
