New by Sting: Songs from the Labyrinth. Universal, 2006. Get the CD from Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.com, Amazon.de or Citydisc Schweiz. Songs from the Labyrinth is the result of Sting's look into lute music from the Renaissance. In addition to the vocals and the archlute played by Sting, Edin Karamazov is the accompanying lute and archlute player on this album. For Song from the Labyrinth, Sting took classes with Richard Levitt from the Schola Cantorum Basilensis. It has not helped the star overcome his vocal weaknesses. More helpful is the fact that Edin Karamazov is considered one of the master's of the lute.

Sting: Brand New Day. Sheet music by Sting.
CD review from Cosmopolis N° zero, October 25/November 30, 1999
In Brand New Day, Sting integrates with ease completely different musical worlds into his universe. In Desert Rose there are Algerian-Arab tunes. In Big Lie, Small World we can hear an underlying Bossa Nova. In Pefect Love ... Gone Wrong there is funk and French rap. In Fill her up Sting mixes in western and country. In other songs he presents a cocktail of jazz ballads or adds gospel music. World music, cross over, music with an ethnic touch sounds normally artificial, laboured if not awkward and embarrassing. Not so with Sting. In his compositions he harmoniously brings together styles of diverse cultural backgrounds. All of Sting's songs have a common theme: love. On Brand New Day he surrounds himself with Stevie Wonder, James Taylor, Branford Marsalis, Chris Boti and Cheb Mami. There are also his usual accompanying musicians: guitarist Dominic Miller, drummers Manu Katche and Vinnie Colaiuta. An irresistible but not insistent music results from this mix of stars. Sting's best CD yet. Sting: Brand New Day. Uni/A&M; September 28, 1999. Get the CD Brand New Day from Amazon.de, Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.fr. Brand New Day remains Stings best album.
